NFC East quarterbacking struggles impact Commanders and Giants

The NFC East is facing significant quarterbacking challenges as both the Washington Commanders and New York Giants navigate roster instability.

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has not recorded a victory in over a year, with his last win occurring on October 5, 2025. Despite returning from an elbow injury and producing nearly 1,000 all-purpose yards and seven touchdowns in four appearances this season, the team sits at 1-4-1. The Commanders' only win this season came under backup Marcus Mariota.

Meanwhile, the New York Giants, currently leading the division, face a decision at the quarterback position. Following an injury to starter Jaxson Dart, veteran Jameis Winston has taken over. The shift to Winston has forced a change in offensive scheme from mobile-based RPOs to a traditional dropback style. Head coach John Harbaugh is currently evaluating whether to continue with Winston or transition to J.J. McCarthy ahead of their upcoming game against Houston.
