NFL defensive outlook highlights Texans, Seahawks, and Rams for 2026

Looking ahead to the 2026 NFL season, several teams are positioned as defensive leaders. The Houston Texans enter with momentum after recording the league's best average of yards allowed per game (277.7) and the second-best average of points allowed (17.7). To strengthen their roster, the Texans have added Reed Blankenship, Jadeveon Clowney, and Kayden McDonald.

The Seattle Seahawks, led by Super Bowl-winning head coach Mike Macdonald, aim to remain competitive with a core group including Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy, DeMarcus Lawrence, Devon Witherspoon, and Nick Emmanwori.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Rams have significantly bolstered their defensive line by acquiring Myles Garrett and bringing Aaron Donald out of retirement. The Rams are preparing to compete for the Super Bowl at their home venue, SoFi Stadium.
