NFL fines Geno Smith and two Packers players after Week 2 matchup

The NFL has issued fines to several players following the Week 2 matchup between the New York Jets and the Green Bay Packers. Jets quarterback Geno Smith was fined $11,491 for “unsportsmanlike conduct,” specifically for taunting Lukas Van Ness after a touchdown pass in the third quarter.

Two Green Bay Packers players also received penalties. Ty’Ron Hopper was fined for unnecessary roughness in the first quarter, and Chris McClellan received a fine for the same infraction. The Jets lost the contest with a final score of 20-17.

Looking ahead, the Jets are scheduled to face the Detroit Lions. Following their Week 2 loss, the Jets seek to improve their record, while the Lions aim to recover from a Week 2 defeat against the Buffalo Bills.
