NFL legends to host football camps in Vernon and Salmon Arm

Lance Heron and the non-profit Global Gridiron Football Experience are organizing football camps in Vernon and Salmon Arm, British Columbia, scheduled for May 20 to 28, 2027. The initiative aims to improve sports education, athlete safety, leadership, and coaching development through instruction from professional football figures.

The event is expected to feature 15 NFL legends, including former Baltimore Ravens Super Bowl-winning coach Brian Billick, former Atlanta Falcons coach Mike Smith, and former NFL safety Robert Griffith. The program will include camps for children, clinics for adults, VIP events, and autograph sessions. Heron noted that while there were suggestions to move the event to larger cities like Vancouver or Kelowna, he intends to keep the inaugural camps in the North Okanagan-Shuswap region to promote the local area.
