NFL preseason Week 2 quarterback rotations and strategies

NFL coaches are employing strategic quarterback rotations for Week 2 of the preseason, as the reduced three-game schedule influences playing time for starters and backups.

In the matchup between the Raiders and the Texans, Raiders coach Klint Kubiak has been rotating three quarterbacks during practice. While Kirk Cousins remains the designated starter, Aidan O’Connell is expected to see significant action, with Fernando Mendoza also likely to play. For the Texans, CJ Stroud may see limited action, potentially playing only one or two series.

In the game between the 49ers and the Chargers, Brock Purdy did not play in Week 1. Additionally, Kurtis Rourke has been managing a chest injury involving breathing complications.
