NFL preseason Week 3 highlights players and roster battles

In NFL preseason Week 3, several former Penn State players and rising roster candidates delivered notable performances. During the New York Jets' 17-0 shutout victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers, defensive end Nate Lynn, a recent signing, recorded four tackles, four pressures, and two sacks, significantly boosting his chances for a 53-man roster spot.

In the same game, Steelers quarterback Drew Allar completed 11 of 23 attempts for 110 yards. Despite being sacked three times and facing a struggling offense, Allar recorded a highlight 38-yard pass to a tight end.

Other alumni performances included Kaytron Allen for the Washington Commanders, who rushed for 30 yards in a 17-13 loss to the Detroit Lions, and Sean Clifford for the Cincinnati Bengals, who completed 10 of 15 passes for 126 yards and a touchdown in a 27-9 win over the Chicago Bears.
