NFL: Ted Karras recounts saving Mike Gesicki's life

During the opening Sunday of the NFL season, Cincinnati Bengals tight end Mike Gesicki emerged as a key target for quarterback Joe Burrow in a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In a recent podcast appearance, Bengals center Ted Karras recounted a life-saving incident involving Gesicki from their time as teammates with the Miami Dolphins in 2020. Karras described how Gesicki began choking on a steak during a team meal, prompting Karras to perform the Heimlich maneuver. Karras noted that the situation was serious, stating they were “about 30 seconds away from an actual, like, this is gonna be a serious thing here.” Karras jokingly added that Gesicki has required the Heimlich maneuver three times in his life.
