NFL training camps kick off for 2026 season with Panthers and Titans updates

The Carolina Panthers opened their 2026 preseason training camp a week early, giving the squad an extra practice session. The camp saw a mixed start, with the defense dominating the first day and the offense improving later. Wide receiver Xavier Legette emerged as a standout, earning praise from head coach Dave Canales, who highlighted Legette’s speed, power and familiarity with the offensive system. The Panthers also dealt a blow when rookie safety Nic Scourton suffered a torn ACL on day one, ending his season.

The Tennessee Titans began their camp on Wednesday, focusing on a revamped offense under head coach Brian Daboll. Tight end Gunnar Helm, now the primary option after the departure of Chig Okonkwo, is expected to play a larger role. Although Helm was omitted from Pro Football Focus’s top‑32 tight‑end list, the team hopes his previous production and increased targets will translate into a breakout sophomore year.
