NFL Update: Pass-rusher trade rumors and player injury reports

In the NFL, the Chicago Bears are reportedly seeking a pass-rusher ahead of the trade deadline. While interest in Los Angeles Chargers veteran Khalil Mack has been widely reported, analysts suggest Tampa Bay Buccaneers outside linebacker Yaya Diaby could be a viable long-term, cost-effective option for Chicago. Diaby, a third-round pick from 2023, is currently in the final year of his rookie contract.

In player updates, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has shown significant progress following a torn ACL. Falcons head coach Kevin Stefanski noted Penix’s diligence in learning the team's system while rehabbing. Meanwhile, Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles highlighted the development of Yaya Diaby, noting his improved ability to finish pass-rushing opportunities.

In Carolina, Panthers head coach Dave Canales provided an update on left tackle Ikem Ekwonu. While Ekwonu is meeting weekly milestones in his recovery, no specific timeline for his return to practice has been established.
