Ángel Correa targeted with threats as River Plate transfer talks continue

Argentine striker Ángel Correa has confirmed his intention to leave Mexican side Tigres and join River Plate. Tigres coach Guido Pizarro said negotiations are underway and the clubs are discussing a fee of around US$13 million, lower than the US$18 million release clause demanded by Tigres.

Correa’s wife, Sabrina Di Marzo, reported receiving hundreds of threats directed at her and their three young daughters on social media following the transfer speculation. She posted a statement saying, “In the last days I received hundreds of threats and insults, not only for us but also for my daughters, and that has a limit.” The account was deactivated shortly after the post.
