Ángel Álvaro Peña, Mexican journalist and public official, dies
Ángel Álvaro Peña, a prominent Mexican journalist and public servant, has passed away. Born in Tuxpan, Veracruz, in 1936, Peña maintained a long career spanning journalism, politics, and public service.
During his career, he served as the head of Giras during the presidency of José López Portillo and later acted as the Secretary of Tourism for the state of Veracruz under the administration of Fidel Herrera Beltrán. He also led the magazine ‘Políticos al Desnudo’.
Peña was well known for his column ‘Alma Grande’, which appeared in various media outlets, including López-Dóriga Digital. He was recognized for his lifelong dedication to observing and analyzing national and Veracruz politics through his writing.
