Ángel Martínez retracts accusations against Roberto Fulcar
Communicator Ángel Martínez has formally retracted his public accusations against Roberto Fulcar Encarnación, the former Minister of Education of the Dominican Republic, during a court hearing in Santo Domingo.
Martínez admitted before a tribunal that the information he had previously disseminated was false and acknowledged that his statements caused damage to the honor, reputation, and professional trajectory of Fulcar and his family. He expressed regret and offered a public apology to Fulcar, his family, and Dominican society.
The legal proceedings were initiated by Fulcar following allegations of defamation and injury. Fulcar’s attorney, Ingrid Hidalgo, characterized the retracted claims as grave accusations intended to discredit a political figure rather than legitimate political criticism. The court proceedings included attempts to explore a conciliatory path to resolve the conflict.
