Ángela Aguilar reflects on past mistakes and public scrutiny

Singer Ángela Aguilar has spoken openly about the challenges of growing up in the public eye and the mistakes she made during her adolescence. In recent interviews, including a conversation with Jomari Goyso, the Mexican artist admitted that she said “wrong things” in the past and expressed embarrassment when reviewing old interviews, describing her younger self as having gone through “stupid, unconscious, and arrogant” stages.

Aguilar reflected on the pressure of maintaining the Aguilar family legacy, noting that her father, Pepe Aguilar, instilled a deep respect for their name and hard work. She also shared personal struggles regarding her mental health and safety, revealing that she spent two to three months confined to her home following certain aggressions. She noted that she eventually sought psychological support to help her gradually reintegrate into public life and manage the impact of constant social media scrutiny.
