Ángela Leiva faces copyright dispute and allegations of domestic violence

Argentine singer Ángela Leiva is facing a legal dispute regarding the performance rights of several of her most famous songs, including “Amiga Traidora”. Silvia, the widow of the late Héctor “Chiqui” Percovich, filed a complaint alleging that Leiva has been performing these tracks without proper authorization and that royalties have not been paid.

A judicial ruling has reportedly prohibited Leiva from performing or even mentioning these specific songs. Leiva’s manager, Alejandro Romero, stated that they had not been officially notified of the ruling and noted that they are currently seeking compensation for digital streaming royalties.

Separately, Leiva has issued a public statement via social media accusing her former partner, producer Mariano Zelaya, of ongoing gender-based violence. She claims to have suffered psychological, labor, and economic violence, as well as harassment, for over seven years, noting that she has previously obtained restraining orders against him.
