Nghệ An Province Posts Over 20,000 billion VND Revenue and $2.43 billion FDI in First Seven Months of 2026
In the first seven months of 2026, Vietnam’s Nghệ An Province recorded state budget revenue of about 20,285 billion VND, reaching 86.9% of its target and up 29.7% year‑on‑year. Foreign direct investment totaled more than $2.43 billion, keeping the province among the national leaders in attracting overseas capital.
Industrial production surged, with the industrial production index rising 21.64% and the manufacturing sector expanding 25.24%, driving overall growth. Export earnings reached roughly $3.69 billion, a 52.3% increase, while retail sales and service revenue hit 113,000 billion VND, up 13.86%. Tourism attracted about 8.24 million visitors, generating 25,500 billion VND in revenue.
The provincial government approved 44 projects with a combined investment of over 84,360 billion VND—more than five times the amount in the same period of 2025. Public investment disbursement reached 7,136 billion VND (43.68% of the annual plan). Over 29,100 jobs were created, and the province ranked third nationwide in average high‑school graduation scores.
Officials, led by Chairman Võ Trọng Hải, urged accelerated completion of key projects, full disbursement of investment funds, and removal of bottlenecks in land‑release and material supply, while also monitoring potential power‑generation shortfalls due to water‑level issues at hydro‑electric reservoirs.
