Nghệ An woman fined for spreading false driving exam corruption claims

A woman in Nghệ An province has been fined 13.5 million VND for spreading false information regarding driver's license examinations. After failing her road test, the individual, identified as N. T. N. A, posted videos and dozens of comments on social media alleging corruption, bribery, and that passing required illegal payments.

Authorities from the Nghệ An Provincial Police Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention Department determined that the woman had posted 63 comments containing false information. During questioning, she admitted the claims were based on rumors she had seen online and that she had not personally witnessed any bribery or interference with the exam results. The police stated her actions damaged the reputation of the traffic police examination council and driving instructors.
