Nghe An police arrest suspects in multi-vehicle vandalism spree

Police in Nghe An have arrested a group of suspects following a series of vehicle break-ins in the early hours of October 19. The primary incident occurred on the sidewalk in front of the T&T Victoria apartment complex in Thanh Vinh Ward, Vinh City, where eight cars had their windows smashed.

Investigators believe the perpetrators used sharp objects to break the glass and search for valuables inside. Some vehicle owners reported missing documents and items, with repair costs estimated in the tens of millions of VND. The crime spree reportedly extended to Diễn Châu, where two additional vehicles were targeted.

The suspects, residing in the Hoang Mai and Vinh Phu wards of Nghe An, have been handed over to the Nghe An Provincial Police Criminal Investigation Department. The incident has raised security concerns among local residents, particularly as the targeted area lacked surveillance cameras despite being located near a major city intersection.
