An emergency excavation in Kim Lien Commune, Nghe An Province, has uncovered two ancient brick tombs. Based on construction techniques and artifacts, the burial chambers are provisionally dated to between the 4th and 6th centuries, a period associated with the Six Dynasties.

A wide variety of valuable burial objects were recovered from the site. These include Wu Zhu coins, iron knives, sabres, and swords, as well as bronze objects, glass beads, and yellow-colored metal beads and sheets. Ceramic and stoneware items, such as jars, cups, bowls, pots, and bottles, were also unearthed.

The bricks used in the tombs are primarily rectangular, colored red or grey, and were fired at relatively low temperatures. While most are undecorated, some feature a chequerboard pattern. Following the discovery, archaeologists have recommended provisional conservation measures, including the covering and backfilling of the excavation pits, to allow for further research into the historical and cultural sites of the Lam River basin.
