Nghiêm Đình Vỳ, prominent educator and historian, passes away

Associate Professor Dr. Nghiêm Đình Vỳ, a distinguished educator and historian, passed away at the age of 81 on August 30, 2026, at Bach Mai Hospital.

Throughout a career spanning over half a century, Dr. Vỳ held several prominent leadership roles, including Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Rector of Hanoi National University of Education. He was also a former Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department.

Dr. Vỳ is credited with laying the foundation for several departments at Hanoi National University of Education, such as Physical Education, Special Education, and Music-Fine Arts Pedagogy. He also contributed significantly to distance learning initiatives to promote lifelong education for teachers and management staff.
