Ngorongoro Authority adopts digital technology for tourism
To mark World Tourism Day, the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) is emphasizing the integration of digital technology and artificial intelligence to enhance the visitor experience and promote tourism. During celebrations in Karatu, officials highlighted the use of modern tools such as QR codes for information access, virtual reality for immersive previews, and Smart Gate systems (VGS) to streamline entry and exit processes.
NCAA officials, including Senior Assistant Commissioner Mariam Kobelo, noted that these digital advancements aim to meet international standards while maintaining a focus on sustainable conservation. The initiative seeks to modernize how wildlife, cultural heritage, and geological attractions are marketed to a global audience. The celebrations also included community engagement activities, such as a fun run, to promote the importance of tourism in driving local development.
