NGOs provide educational aid to students in Bauchi and Abuja
Non-governmental organisations in Nigeria are providing educational support and resources to disadvantaged students in Bauchi State and the Federal Capital Territory.
In Bauchi State, a coalition including the Child is Gold Foundation (CIGF) and the IKRA Foundation conducted a ‘Back-to-School Project’ at Government Junior Secondary School, Gwallameji. The initiative provided 50 students with 396 books, 86 pencils, 64 pens, and chalk. Beyond material aid, the program included sensitization sessions on reproductive health, adolescence, and personal safety.
In Kubwa, Abuja, the Catherine Adeh Foundation provided scholarships, school bags, sneakers, and exercise books to 70 primary and secondary students. The foundation's founder, Catherine Nwesi Adeh, stated the intervention aims to help vulnerable children remain in school and mitigate the challenges faced by those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
