Ngurah Rai Airport implements efficiency study and emergency drills
AirNav Indonesia and Boeing have signed a Letter of Intent to conduct a study aimed at optimizing aircraft movement at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali. The collaboration seeks to reduce flight congestion by analyzing ground traffic, including taxiways and parking areas, as well as maximizing runway capacity. The study will utilize advanced 4D visual data simulation technology known as the Total Airspace and Airport Modeller (TAAM) to test various efficiency scenarios.
Separately, PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, the manager of Ngurah Rai International Airport, has announced a full-scale Airport Emergency Exercise (AEE) scheduled for September 23, 2026. The simulation is designed to test the readiness of personnel and the effectiveness of emergency response procedures. The exercise will include three specific scenarios: a building fire, an airport security breach, and a simulated aircraft accident, ensuring coordination between internal units and relevant agencies.
