The Vietnamese game show ‘Ai Là Triệu Phú’, based on the ‘Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?’ format, has several notable historical milestones. The program premiered on January 4, 2005, hosted by journalist Lại Văn Sâm. The first contestant to sit in the hot seat was Nguyễn Đức Thắng from Hanoi, who faced an opening question regarding who distributes gifts to children via chimneys in the West. Thắng eventually stopped at question 12, earning 6,800,000 VND.

In a rare occurrence, contestant Lương Lê An required a lifeline at the very first question during a May 29, 2018, broadcast. The question asked which district in Hanoi the Quán Sứ Pagoda is located in. After consulting the studio audience, he correctly identified Hoàn Kiếm district. He ultimately finished the game at question 8 with 6,000,000 VND.
