Nguyen Thanh Tung honored for 30-year career in Hanoi Police

Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Director of the Hanoi Police, has been recognized as one of nine individuals nominated for the “Elite Capital Citizen” title in 2026.

With over 30 years of service in the Hanoi Police force, Lieutenant General Tung has held various positions, beginning his career in the former Tu Liem District before serving in the Cau Giay, Hai Ba Trung, and Bac Tu Liem districts. In 2025, he was appointed Director of the Hanoi Police.

In April 2026, he was awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces for his exceptional achievements in crime prevention and control. His career has been marked by involvement in complex criminal investigations, including a significant murder and robbery case in the Hai Ba Trung district in 2013, which shaped his leadership style focused on evidence and personal responsibility.
