UK cyclist fined £1,200, Vietnamese taxi driver thwarts VND90 million scam, Da Nang woman charged over VND10 billion fra

In West Yorkshire, England, a cyclist who filmed a car allegedly riding too close was himself fined £1,200 (about VND42 million) after police concluded he had breached traffic rules by weaving between two vehicles.

In Hà Tĩnh, Vietnam, taxi driver Nguyễn Thị Mậu’s driver noticed a passenger being pressured by a phone scam that pretended to be police and demanded VND90 million. The driver intervened, persuaded her not to transfer the money and escorted her to the local police station, preventing the loss.

In Da Nẵng, Vietnam, police arrested Nguyễn Thị Kiều Vân, accusing her of defrauding more than VND10 billion by promising high‑return food‑industry investments. She has been charged with fraud and ordered not to leave her residence while investigations continue.
