Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao ranked as Vietnam's second richest person

According to real-time Forbes billionaire rankings as of October 17, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao is the second richest person in Vietnam with a net worth of $4.1 billion. She serves as the Chairwoman of Vietjet Air (VJC) and Sovico Group, and is the Standing Vice Chairwoman of HDBank.

Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of Vingroup, remains the wealthiest individual in Vietnam with a net worth of $33.8 billion, ranking 68th globally. Other notable Vietnamese billionaires include Pham Thu Huong ($3.8 billion) and Pham Thuy Hang ($2.7 billion) from Vingroup, as well as leaders from Hoa Phat Group, Techcombank, VPBank, and Masan Group.

Dr. Thao's wealth has seen a decrease since the beginning of the year, largely due to fluctuations in Vietjet Air stock. As of October 16, VJC shares were trading at 127,500 VND, down approximately 20% from the start of the year.
