Nguyen Tien Dung cycles 1,870km across Vietnam in 14 days

Nguyen Tien Dung, an 18-year-old from Tuyen Quang, completed a 1,870-kilometer cycling journey across Vietnam in 14 days. The trip began on June 20 in Ho Chi Minh City and concluded in Hanoi, allowing Dung to return to the capital in time for university enrollment procedures.

Dung motivated the journey by a desire to create a memorable milestone at age 18 and a dream to see his country firsthand. Despite physical preparation, the trip presented significant challenges, including a history of knee joint issues, frequent nosebleeds caused by extreme heat, and episodes of low blood pressure during long stretches of travel.

Throughout the journey, Dung faced various obstacles such as mechanical failures at Hai Van Pass and navigating difficult weather conditions, including the approach of a storm in Thanh Hoa province.
