Nguyen Van Duc prosecuted for intentional injury in Quang Ninh

The Quang Ninh City Police have officially initiated a criminal case and prosecuted Nguyen Van Duc (born 1982) for “intentional injury” under the 2015 Penal Code.

The incident occurred on June 23, 2026, at the Tu Uyen beer shop in Ha Tu 6, Ha Tu Ward. Following a dispute regarding money during a social gathering, Duc allegedly struck Dang Ngoc Diep in the forehead with a glass cup. Duc also attempted to throw a second glass cup at the victim, though it did not hit him.

Mr. Diep sustained a traumatic brain injury and a fractured frontal bone, requiring surgery at Bai Chay General Hospital. Medical assessments determined the victim's total body injury rate to be 36%. The investigation is ongoing.
