Nguyễn Công Phượng revisits durian trees planted with HAGL in 2021

Vietnamese footballer Nguyễn Công Phượng recently revisited the Hàm Rồng Farm in Pleiku to check on durian trees he planted in 2021. During a hiatus in the V. League that year, Công Phượng and several other HAGL Academy players, including Tuấn Anh and Xuân Trường, joined club owner Bầu Đức and coach Kiatisuk Senamuang to plant 270 durian trees across 1.3 hectares.

Four years after the planting event, the trees have matured and are now producing large fruit. During his visit, Công Phượng shared photos of the harvest, jokingly referring to them as ‘Coach Zico’s durian’ in honor of his former mentor.

On the professional front, Công Phượng is currently playing for Dong Nai City FC in the 2026/2027 season. Following a significant goal in the National Cup, his recent performances have sparked discussions regarding a potential return to the Vietnam National Team.
