Nguyễn Minh Trí arrested for car rental fraud

Authorities in Vietnam have apprehended Nguyễn Minh Trí, a 28-year-old man from An Giang province who was wanted as a particularly dangerous fugitive. Trí was arrested in Nghe An province following a coordinated effort by the Dong Thap and Nghe An provincial police.

Trí is accused of fraud involving the rental of self-driving cars, which he subsequently pawned for cash. Investigations indicate he was involved in two separate fraud cases in the My Tra and My Ngai wards of Dong Thap province, resulting in the misappropriation of approximately 200 million VND. After being indicted, Trí fled his locality to evade investigation, leading to a warrant for his arrest.
