Nguyễn Trọng Hoàng reaches 21st consecutive V. League season

Vietnamese footballer Nguyễn Trọng Hoàng has entered his 21st consecutive V. League season, setting a record in the country’s top-tier football league. At 37 years old, he started for Hồng Lĩnh Hà Tĩnh in a match against CLB Công an Hà Nội during the opening round of the 2026/27 season.

Since his debut in 2007 with Sông Lam Nghệ An, Trọng Hoàng has played for several prominent clubs, including Becamex Bình Dương, FLC Thanh Hóa, and Thể Công - Viettel. Throughout his career, he has secured 4 V. League titles, 4 National Cups, and 3 Super Cups. Known by the nickname ‘Hoàng Bò’ for his high physical stamina, he continues to compete as a wing-back despite the increasing physical demands of the modern game.
