Nguyễn Trọng Đại, a former captain of the Vietnam U19 and U20 national teams, has publicly shared his struggles after facing a significant career decline. Once a rising star who participated in the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup and the historic 2018 U23 AFC Championship in Changzhou, the 29-year-old midfielder recently posted on social media seeking employment opportunities.

Trọng Đại attributed his downfall to several personal and professional setbacks. He admitted to losing his career due to gambling, which led to financial instability. Additionally, he faced a severe ligament injury that ended his ability to play professionally, alongside the emotional hardship of his mother being diagnosed with cancer.

Despite his past success with clubs like Viettel and his involvement in major international tournaments, he is currently seeking work to support himself, emphasizing that he wishes for job opportunities rather than financial donations.
