Phú Thọ authorities prosecute officials for bribery and land misuse

Phú Thọ authorities have initiated several criminal proceedings involving corruption, land misuse, and fraud.

Nguyễn Huy Ngọc, former Vice Chairman of the Phú Thọ Provincial People's Committee, was dismissed from his position by the Provincial People's Council following his expulsion from the Party. This follows his arrest by the Ministry of Public Security on bribery charges related to a case involving the Vietnam Medical Investment Joint Stock Company.

Additionally, former commune official Bạch Chí Điển and former land official Hoàng Mạnh Dũng have been prosecuted for abusing their powers. Between 2013 and 2018, they illegally sold over 1,100 square meters of public land—including sites for a tax office, a kindergarten, and a medical station—collecting over 545 million VND which was kept for personal use rather than being submitted to the state budget.

In separate cases, police have detained Lương Thế Trọng for sexual intercourse with a minor under 16, and Lê Doãn Luân for misappropriating over 431 million VND from a construction materials company while working as a sales employee.
