Nguyễn Văn Thắng appointed to lead Vietnam's ODA steering committee
Vietnam has appointed Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Văn Thắng as the Head of the National Steering Committee for Official Development Assistance (ODA) and concessional loans. Deputy Minister of Finance Trần Quốc Phương will serve as the Deputy Head of the Committee.
The committee includes members from various ministries, including Foreign Affairs, Justice, Agriculture and Rural Development, Construction, Industry and Trade, Health, and Education and Training, as well as representatives from the State Bank of Vietnam and the People's Committees of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
The committee is tasked with researching and proposing policies to the Prime Minister regarding the attraction, management, and effective use of ODA and concessional loan funds. It also serves to coordinate inter-sectoral efforts to resolve bottlenecks in the implementation of projects and to urge ministries and local authorities to manage these funds efficiently.
