NH Investment & Securities and Trinity Air partner on carbon credits
NH Investment & Securities and Trinity Air have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to cooperate on the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) and the domestic greenhouse gas emissions trading system.
This marks the first cooperation agreement between a domestic airline and a securities firm regarding CORSIA emissions supply and domestic emissions trading. As part of the agreement, Trinity Air will first procure 20,000 tons of CORSIA-eligible carbon credits through NH Investment & Securities. The airline plans to gradually secure more than 10% of the emissions volume required for the Phase 1 settlement deadline in January 2028.
The two parties will also collaborate on establishing a delegated trading system within the Korean Emissions Trading Scheme (K-ETS). NH Investment & Securities will utilize its own delegated trading system to support Trinity Air's transactions while providing market analysis and policy trends. This partnership aims to mitigate management risks caused by price volatility and supply uncertainties in the carbon credit market.
