NH Nonghyup Bank expands food security support and public treasury market share

NH Nonghyup Bank has entered into a strategic agreement with POSCO International to provide 500 billion won in financial support over the next three years. This initiative aims to bolster global food security by supporting POSCO International’s food business, which includes grain imports and international trade of corn, wheat, and rice. The support includes integrated foreign exchange limits, preferential trade finance fees, and new foreign exchange transaction assistance.

Separately, NH Nonghyup Bank has surpassed a 70% market share in the public treasury market for local governments and offices of education. As of September, the bank manages approximately 482 trillion won, accounting for 70.3% of the total 685 trillion won market. While Nonghyup maintains dominance in treasury volume, Shinhan Bank reported the highest expenditure in cooperation business funds, contributing 464.7 billion won, which is more than double Nonghyup’s 224.8 billion won.
