Nha Trang coral restoration project utilizes advanced technology

A coral restoration project in Nha Trang Bay, Vietnam, has been active since 2022, focusing on long-term marine ecosystem conservation through scientific research, community education, and responsible tourism.

Managed by Avatar Vasada, the project covers approximately 25.5 hectares in the Bai Tien area. Rather than relying solely on laboratory breeding, the initiative uses a method described by Director Nguyen Thuy Vu as an underwater “training camp.” Coral branches are nurtured directly in the marine environment on substrates to help them adapt to natural fluctuations in salinity, temperature, light, and water pressure before being moved to areas requiring reconstruction.

The project incorporates advanced technological solutions, including BioRock and acoustic technology. The acoustic systems simulate signals from healthy marine ecosystems to attract organisms and support biological processes related to coral reproduction.
