Nha Trang to Build Pedestrian Bridges Over Tran Phu Road to Ease Traffic
The provincial government of Khánh Hòa has directed the Nha Trang ward to conduct a feasibility study and evaluate the economic and social benefits of constructing pedestrian overpasses across Tran Phu Road, the main coastal thoroughfare of the city. The study will involve the Department of Construction, the Department of Finance and other relevant agencies, and will assess site locations, design, investment needs and integration with the city's road‑development plan through 2040.
Tran Phu Road, lined with upscale hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops and public beaches, experiences severe congestion during peak tourism periods, weekends and holidays. The proposed footbridges – including a likely crossing near the Tran Phu–Xóm Cồn intersection – aim to improve traffic flow, enhance urban aesthetics and provide safer crossing for the large number of pedestrians visiting the area.
