Nha Trang University launches Marine Economy Forum
Nha Trang University has launched the Marine Economy Forum (MEF) to establish a permanent cooperation mechanism between government agencies, local authorities, businesses, and research institutions. The forum aims to bridge the gap between practical maritime economic challenges and scientific solutions.
Operating primarily in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions of Vietnam, the MEF will focus on sectors such as high-tech aquaculture, seafood processing, marine logistics, sustainable tourism, and offshore renewable energy. The initiative seeks to facilitate the transfer of technology and knowledge to promote a green and sustainable blue economy.
By 2030, the forum aims to transfer at least five scientific and technological solutions and build a network of 20 to 25 partners. Initial members include the Department of Fisheries and the People's Committees of Khanh Hoa, Dak Lak, and Lam Dong provinces, alongside various research institutes and industry associations.
