NHK drama Blossom follows protagonist Tamas decision to leave Iwakuni
In the upcoming 19th episode of the NHK morning drama “Blossom,” scheduled for broadcast on October 22, the protagonist Tama (played by Shizuka Ishibashi) decides to leave her home in Iwakuni. This decision follows a suggestion from Ryo (Ryoko Kuninaka) to move to Tokyo to assist Tamotsu (Daichi Kaneko) at his university.
Upon announcing her intention to her family during breakfast, Tama’s brother Mamoru (Shoma Nakasu) reacts with anger and leaves the house. After learning about Mamoru’s true feelings from Kozo (Tomito Yashima), Tama seeks to reconcile with him and express her own emotions.
The series is inspired by the life of author Chiyo Uno, depicting Tama’s journey through the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras as she overcomes personal and social hardships to find success as a novelist.
