NHK to broadcast extended version of ‘Yamada Todoroki Law Office’
NHK has announced the broadcast of an extended “complete version” of the spin-off drama ‘Yamada Todoroki Law Office,’ a prequel to the serial television novel ‘Tora ni Tsubasa.’ The new version adds 17 minutes of previously cut footage, increasing the total runtime from 72 minutes to 89 minutes.
The drama explores the backstory of characters Yamada Yone (played by Shiori Doi) and Todoroki Taichi (played by Junki Totsuka), detailing the establishment of their law office in Ueno following the post-war era. The narrative follows Yone as she navigates a period of social disorder and legal helplessness, eventually finding resolve through the principles of Article 14 of the Constitution.
The complete version is scheduled to air on NHK BS Premium 4K on November 3 and on NHK BS on December 13. The production features a script by Erika Yoshida and a theme song by Kenshi Yonezu.
