NHL injury update: Matt Duchene sidelined three months
The Dallas Stars will be without forward Matt Duchene for approximately three months following successful surgery to repair a chronic core muscle injury. General manager Jim Nill confirmed the timeline, noting that the procedure was necessary as the team could no longer delay treatment. Duchene, who recorded 45 points last season, will be sidelined until the new year, leaving the Stars looking for offensive depth.
In other NHL news, Chicago Blackhawks captain Connor Bedard is trending toward a return to the lineup. Three months after undergoing shoulder surgery, Bedard has been skating and may make his season debut in an upcoming game against Pittsburgh.
Additionally, the Toronto Maple Leafs will be without Chris Tanev for at least three games, while Cutter Gauthier has returned to on-ice activity with the Anaheim Ducks.
