The NHL Network has released its rankings for the top 20 defensemen for the upcoming season.

Moritz Seider of the Detroit Red Wings was ranked as the 9th-best defenseman in the league. Seider recently achieved career highs in goals, assists, points, and average time on ice, while playing all 82 games for the fifth consecutive season.

Lane Hutson saw a significant rise in the rankings, moving from 19th to 6th place. He was ranked behind only Cale Makar, Quinn Hughes, Zach Werenski, Rasmus Dahlin, and Miro Heiskanen. Hutson recorded 78 points, including 66 assists, during his recent campaign.
