NHL teams undergo significant roster changes for 2026 season

Several NHL teams have undergone significant roster changes during the 2026 offseason to improve their competitive standing. The Washington Capitals have aggressively retooled following a season where they missed the playoffs. General Manager Chris Patrick acquired veterans Alex Tuch, Jordan Kyrou, and Boone Jenner, along with defenseman Vincent Desharnais, to bolster the team's offensive capabilities during Alex Ovechkin’s final season.

Other notable team updates include the New Jersey Devils, who moved on from Jacob Markstrom and added Evan Rodriguez to their forward group. The Florida Panthers are also entering the new season following a period marked by numerous injuries.
