NHL trade rumors surround Connor Zary

Calgary Flames winger Connor Zary has become a subject of interest for several NHL teams following his recent placement on waivers. Although Zary cleared waivers and was assigned to the Calgary Wranglers in the AHL, his $3.775 million cap hit has complicated potential acquisitions.

The Vancouver Canucks are reportedly considering interest in the 25-year-old, with reports suggesting the team has monitored him since the summer. Additionally, speculation has emerged regarding a potential trade involving the Toronto Maple Leafs, who could seek to bolster their roster depth and defensive presence through salary cap retention deals.

Calgary's willingness to trade Zary may depend on creative financial arrangements, as the Flames have limited capacity for salary retention.
