NHL veterans James Van Riemsdyk and Connor Ingram remain unsigned
Several notable NHL veterans remain without contracts as training camps approach. Among them is 38-year-old forward James Van Riemsdyk, who played for the Detroit Red Wings during the 2025-26 season. Despite providing secondary scoring and special teams contributions, the veteran journeyman has not secured a deal for the upcoming season.
Additionally, former Edmonton Oilers goaltender Connor Ingram is still on the open market. After serving as a key player during the Oilers' playoff run against the Anaheim Ducks last season, the 29-year-old remains unsigned. While Ingram reportedly sought to re-sign with Edmonton, the organization moved in a different direction by acquiring Devon Levi and Frederik Andersen.
