NHOA Energy secures $215 MW Culcairn battery contract from Neoen in Australia

NHOA Energy, a global utility‑scale energy storage provider, received a notice‑to‑proceed from Neoen to build the Culcairn Battery in New South Wales. The hybrid project will deliver 215 MW of power and 963 MWh of storage capacity and will be integrated behind the meter at Neoen’s 440 MWp Culcairn Solar Farm.

Construction will be carried out under an EPC contract with a joint venture of Equans Solar & Storage and Bouygues Construction Australia. The contract follows NHOA’s successful delivery of Neoen’s 238.5 MW Blyth Battery in South Australia and is intended to improve grid stability and renewable integration in Australia’s National Electricity Market. Neoen’s Australian‑Pacific CEO Jean‑Christophe Cheylus and NHOA’s VP for Australia & Pacific Adrian Marziano highlighted the partnership’s role in accelerating the energy transition.

The Culcairn Battery represents a key milestone in the long‑standing collaboration between Neoen and NHOA Energy, adding a large‑scale hybrid storage asset to Australia’s renewable energy portfolio.
