Nhon Trach 2 Power reports profit reduction after financial review

Nhơn Trạch 2 Power Joint Stock Company (NT2) reported a reduction in its first-half 2026 profit following a financial review. The company's pre-tax profit of 608 billion VND, while a 50% increase year-on-year, was approximately 119 billion VND lower than its initial self-prepared report.

The discrepancy is attributed to an increase in the cost of goods sold due to adjustments in periodic maintenance and repair costs for the Nhơn Trạch 2 Power Plant. These costs relate to a long-term maintenance contract for major equipment signed with a Siemens Energy consortium.

As of June 30, 2026, NT2's total assets reached 10,665 billion VND, a 15% increase from the start of the year. While cash and cash equivalents dropped to approximately 5 billion VND, the company holds over 4,721 billion VND in financial investments and 4,455 billion VND in short-term receivables.
