Doug Kalitta wins Top Fuel title at NHRA Brainerd Nationals

The 2026 NHRA Brainerd Nationals concluded at Brainerd International Raceway with major victories across the professional classes. Doug Kalitta, the reigning Top Fuel world champion, secured a dominant weekend by winning the Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge and claiming the NHRA Brainerd Nationals title after defeating rookie Maddi Gordon in the final.

In the Funny Car category, Matt Hagan won the event title by defeating Jordan Vandergriff. Vandergriff had previously secured the No. 1 qualifying position, an achievement he noted was particularly emotional following the recent passing of his grandfather, industry leader Bob Vandergriff Sr.

Pro Stock saw Greg Anderson, a six-time world champion, take the victory at his home track by defeating Chris Van. Other notable qualifying performances included Dallas Glenn taking the No. 1 spot in Pro Stock and Jordan Vandergriff leading the Funny Car field during Saturday's sessions.
