NHRA Marks 75th Anniversary at Indianapolis Raceway Park

The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) is concluding its year‑long 75th‑anniversary celebration with the 72nd annual Cornwell Quality Tools NHRA U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park. The event runs from September 2‑7, 2026 and features the sport’s premier drag‑racing categories, including Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle. Legendary figures such as Don Garlits, Don Prudhomme, Kenny Bernstein, Joe Amato, Shirley Muldowney and Darrell Gwynn are scheduled to appear, and exhibition runs will showcase classic Rat Trap and Bradford’s Fiat nitro‑fuel Altereds.

Special highlights include the award of the 75th‑anniversary Diamond Wally trophy, a new‑look Nitro Mall, and the return of the historic Sox & Martin Hemi Challenge featuring 1968 Super Stock Dodge Darts and Plymouth Barracudas. Fans can also enjoy the Top Eliminator Club experience, driver appearances, and free parking throughout the six‑day competition.
